THE ROLE:
The PlantwisePlus Project Manager is a member of the PlantwisePlus Management Team, which is responsible for the overall coordination of the global programme on a day-to-day basis. This includes supporting the planning, implementation and monitoring of activities under the programme’s three impact pathways: pest preparedness, farmer advisory, and pesticide risk reduction.
The job holder will contribute to applying project management processes to ensure effective and efficient technical delivery of outputs and reporting, supporting budget and reforecast processes, and assisting in the development of proposals to secure multi-donor engagement.
The PlantwisePlus Project Manager will also be a member of the PlantwisePlus Programme Board, providing inputs into the programme strategy and fundraising.
This position is based in Delémont, Switzerland, with a hybrid working arrangement. Attendance at the office is required a minimum of three days per week.
ABOUT YOU:
Required
- Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in international development projects/programmes
- Experience leading matrixed teams across multiple countries, cultures and functions
- Strong programme governance, planning, budgeting and risk management capability
- Experience producing high-quality executive reports, board papers and strategic communications
- In-depth understanding of performance evaluation principles
- Exceptional organisational skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining delivery quality
- Experience in business development processes
- Excellent analytical thinking, facilitation, negotiation and decision-making skills
- Strong written communication with the ability to synthesise complex information into concise messages
- Fluency in English (written and spoken), other languages an advantage.
Desirable
- Experience in projects within agriculture
- Experience of working in developing countries
- Experience in using PRINCE2 project management principles.
